The Proximity Detection tool is located in the Prepare workspace.
It’s a sub-tool of the support tool on the viewport’s left.
You can open Proximity Detection by clicking on the proximity tab. (Press Shift + left click on a tab to pin it and keep it open even if you select another tab.)
The main goal of this tool is to warn the user if supports are too close or in contact with your model. Once printed, they would be fused with it and cause damage to the surface if removed.
The Proximity detection will change the supports with a red & black color and add a warning in the export workspace for all users.
Only Pro and Premium users can run a Proximity detection or use the real-time detection feature.
The tool has two main functions:
- Real-time proximity detection that you can turn On/off is only active on the selected supports in real-time. It’s perfect for tweaking a support position using the advanced transform (press space bar en enter/leave this mod) until it’s not in contact with your model.
- Run proximity detection will check all the support in the scene at once. It will detect if the supports of a model touch another model when you place them, for example.
