Import a file

Import a .LYS or a .LYT

You can import a file like a .LYS or a .LYT in Lychee slicer using:

  • The drag and drop method from your file explorer.
  • From the File menu >> Open a Scene or CTRL + O
  • Double-clicking on a file from your file explorer if it’s associated with Lychee Slicer.

Import a 3D file:

You can import a file like a .STL, a .OBJ,  or a .3MF in Lychee slicer using:

  • The drag and drop method from your file explorer.
  • From the File menu >> Open a Scene or CTRL + O
  • Double-clicking on a file from your file explorer if it’s associated with Lychee Slicer.

Import a printer profile:

Printer profiles can be imported/added from our database or a .LYR file just like a resin. (see below)

To access the import/add printer function you need to open the printer and resin manager located in the menu File >> Preferences >>  Printers and Resins.

PLACEHOLDER GIF PROCEDURE TO ADD A PRINTER

  • Import resin profile

Resin profiles can be imported from a .LYR file, a compatible sliced file, or a configuration file from another slicer like a .CFG.

To access the import resin function you need to open the printer and resin manager located in the menu File >> Preferences >>  Printers and Resins.

Another way is to use the Community Resin database which allows any user to find a profile for every printer and every resin reference shared by the community.

Users who shared their profiles with the Cloud Save feature and give feedback on their print success rate info with the Print History allow us to create this tool.

You can like and share the profiles which work the best for you if you click on the details on the selected profile.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

We are still cleaning the database to clear all the duplicate or name errors in the resin references. Some printer profiles will also have more or fewer entries depending on their popularity.

We will add the possibility later to submit your best profiles.

In the current state, this feature is a foundation for more awesome features in the future based on this profile database of profiles and printing history.

To access it open the Printers and resins manager windows.

FileIn Preferences >> Printers and resins

In the export tab, select a printer or a resin.

Click on the active printer/resin name in the bottom left corner of any workspace.

Once open, click on Add New Resin.

You can now filter by Printer Brand, Printer Model, Resin Brand, Resin Name, Resin Color, and even add filters like resolution or success rate.

Select the resin profiles you want to add from the list and click on Add X selected profiles, then the printer profile you want in the drop-down menu.

You can also import a resin profile from a file or add a new resin from scratch like you previously can.

Note:

Free users can only access this database if their Cloud Save and 3D Printing History features are active.

Pro and Premium users have no restrictions and can use it even if the Cloud Save feature is turned off.
