Copy

The copy tool, located in the Layout workspace on the left of the viewport, lets you duplicate a model with the option to auto arrange the duplicated models

Click on the tool icon to show the option panel or ALT + D on your keyboard to duplicate once the current selection.

The copy tool offers you a few options:

  • Number of copies: Input the number of extra copies you want.
  • Auto arrange: Let the slicer arrange the model after the copy process.
  • Keep arrangement: By default, the copy will be placed at the center of the build plate. With this option, the copies will be placed on top of the original model.

Tips:

When you copy a model, all the information will be copied:

  • Name
  • Orientation
  • Scale
  • Supports
  • Bracing
  • Raft
  • Hollowing
  • Hollow blockers
  • Vent holes
  • Notes
  • …

The copy can be a slow process if your model has many supports or a high polycount. You can instead save the model as a .lyt/.lys file and import it multiple times in the scene to quickly duplicate the model. In some cases, it’s faster.
